Small in size, but sturdy in construction, the Shop Microscope is widely used as a universal measurer. Despite its small size and lightweight mechanism, it is nevertheless a high precision piece of optics, fabricated with the highest quality design and engineering, materials and workmanship. We are constantly being told how excellent is the rack and pinion focusing, making the over all operation very smooth and convenient.

The illumination device makes possible viewing in dark areas. The device operates with a single standard size pen light battery (not included with purchase).

With the above advantages, the Shop Microscope in additional to being highly useful around any microscopy laboratory, it is superb for any kind of standard surface inspections, centering, blade inspections, measuring diameter of small holes, inspecting plates and printed matter, measuring meshes of screens and textiles, inspecting yarn, observation of slides, just to name a few of the more common applications. One rarely walks into any kind of production facility today in the electronics industry without seeing sometimes many of these little shop microscopes.

The Shop Microscope is known for its ease of use. All one has to do is to remove the milky-white portion at the tip of the illuminating device and insert two pen light batteries. Then fit the illuminating device to the main body as shown in the accompanying graphic and adjust so the light falls on the field to be examined. The black plastic portion of the clip is the switch. Next rotate the adjust ring of the eye piece lens until the scale can be clearly imaged. Turn the rack and pinion focussing device to focus the microscope.

Spare and replacement parts:
SPI Supplies offers some replacement parts for the PEAK brand of microscopes. Consider purchasing some replacement bulbs at the time of microscope purchase. They are inexpensive when ordered with the microscope but can be a problem if ordered separately because of our minimum order requirement.

And now that you have selected the microscope, it is time to select the proper reticule. One reticule comes with each microscope, you just have to decide whether the reticule will be in metric or "English" units. If neither is specified, we will make some arbitrary judgment and make the shipment without further dialogue.
