These features coupled with their convenient camera adaptability however,
put them well beyond the realm that of some kind of a toy for students.
They are also used by serious technical people and researchers all over the
world for a quick and inexpensive means of documenting the visual state of
an important sample or material.
Not too many years ago one of us saw a MACROSCOPE being used in the big
bazaar in Istanbul for measuring the number of "knots" per cm in handmade
Hereke silk Turkish carpets! Of course there are many other uses much
closer to home: stamp collectors, forensic document examination, Autograph
examination, just to name a few examples. |
