Introduction:
The Cargille Fused Liquid Matching Liquids
Codes 50350 and 06350
precisely match the refractive index and very closely match the dispersion of fused silica.
Both products are formulated to match the refractive index of fused silica at the HeNe wavelength (632.8 nm); other custom formulations will match the refractive index of fused silica at other wavelengths.

Colorless, odorless and non-toxic
Solubility data:
Soluble in naphtha, ethyl ether, xylene, methylene chloride
Partially soluble in acetone
Insoluble in water and ethyl alcohol
For comparison of the refraction index of the two liquids 50350 and 06350 to fused silica.
Incompatibilities: Latex rubber
How the two products differ:
Code 50350 has a viscosity (cSt) at 25° C of 19 and Code 06350 a viscosity (cSt) of 80. Code 50350 has a cloud point at or slightly below 1° C whereas Code 06350 has no cloud point.
In development as well as field applications, the Fused Silica Matching Immersion Liquids willbe very useful to those working with fused silica optical fiber, windows, and other optical components.
