The Sunkay Messer Glass Knife Maker fills the need for a simplified, economical, precision glass knife-making instrument. It features the time tested principle of the "free break." Easy, rapid one-knob operation and precision alignment of glass ensure production of superior knives time after time.

And here's a real plus: the Messer Knife Maker from Sunkay uses ordinary float glass available from any plate glass store! Uses all popular types of glass - 5 to 8mm thick. This means the user is not constrained to using the more expensive special ultramicrotome knife glass. As much as we would like to sell this more expensive glass, we think it is far more economical for the typical user to use ordinary glass but which is used with the Sunkay Glass Knife Maker.

All components are fully adjustable - no unnecessary gadgetry! Rugged construction from quality materials provides long and trouble-free performance.

SPI Float Glass

SPI offers "float glass" as a convenience to our customers. However we do want to point out that by the time SPI purchases glass on our end, has it converted to the smaller pieces, then carefully packaged for possible shipment to the other side of the world, the final price to the end user is really quite high. We want to stress that the "beauty" of the Messer Knife Maker is that it uses the most ordinary and standard float glass, nothing special or exotic and is available as a standard item in either 5mm or 6mm thick, depending on one's particular location in the world. In addition, the customer saves money further by not having to pay a sometimes very high shipping charge from SPI to the customer's laboratory. SPI is happy to offer this same kind of float glass for those needing this convenience.
