The "moly half rings" made from high purity molybdenum foil, which are 30 µm thick, are designed for optimum geometry for those using thinning methods based on TriPod polishing using an SPI TriPod Polishing device.

These molybdenum "half rings" should not be confused with the standard "moly rings" that are used for the preparation of materials science samples using ion milling techniques.
