SPI Critical Point Drying Apparatus

User's Manual

CPD

The entire User's Manual for the SPI Critical Point Dryers is now published on-line. We believe that this enables us at SPI to constantly offer our customers a constantly evolving document, one that has the benefit of earlier experiences and the latest recommendations.

We have also found a surprisingly large number of times, in any given year, we are asked by customer to send them a replacement manual. Sometimes someone has just "walked off" with their copy. In other instances the CPD unit has been moved or even sold and a new person in a new laboratory finds, and at the last minute as they are gearing up to do their experiments, that they don't have a manual.

The on-line approach that we have taken believe is unique in the industry we serve, certainly we are the very first to offer this level of service to our customer. We welcome any time your suggestions on how we can make our User's Manual an even more meaningful and more understandable document.

Important Note:

It has been found that when the safety valve (e.g. rupture disc) blows, the instrument, depending on how it is positioned, can slide on the table or even fall off of the table. While this has only happened once to our knowledge, to prevent this from happening in the future, we have fitted rubber feet or, if for permanent fixture, there are two ¼" holes drilled into the board for permanently bolting to the table or bench.
