Coolwave™ Microwave Assisted Automated Tissue Processor

Step up to the latest in microwave technology for the microscopy and histology laboratory

Coolwave™ Microwave Assisted Automated Tissue Processor CE Introduction:
The Coolwave™ Microwave Assisted Automated Tissue Processor for electron microscopy and histology is a real productivity tool for any busy microscopy or histology laboratory. The Coolwave will help your laboratory reduce its labor costs and your technical people can be freed up to do other tasks. With labor costs being what they are, if the laboratory is embedding three or more times per week, it does not make economic sense to continue to do the work manually. The use of the Coolwave microwave assisted automated tissue processor will actually lower your costs for doing the embedding. Simply put, the Coolwave processor shortens significantly the time and produces higher quality embedment than would otherwise be possible with a conventional "over night" tissue processing protocol.

Description of the Coolwave:
The new, user-friendly Coolwave Microwave Assisted Automated Tissue Processor greatly reduces processing time for histochemistry, special staining, immunofluorescence microscopy, western blotting and other procedures. In the Coolwave, both power and temperature are carefully controlled to provide the stability required for these techniques.

Rotary table:
The Coolwave features a rotary table to reduce even further the chances of "hot spotting" during polymerization, a phenomenon that could destroy some of the antigenic sites that would otherwise be present. Other leading microwave processors do not have a rotary table, and consequently the possibility for hot-spotting is greater. True, such a rotary table does add to the cost of the unit, but at the same time, we think this is a small price to pay for this added insurance against hot-spotting.

Output power control:
The power output is variable between 150 and 250 watts at 6 different power levels (including 150 and 250 watts).

Intermittent irradiation timer
ON and OFF in second increments from 1 second to 9999 seconds, giving the user a wide range of irradiation protocol options. After most common irradiation protocols, temperature rise is minimal, in the range of only 3°C to 5°C. Typical processing times are reduced to the range of 10-20% of what they would otherwise have been.
