XRF Thin Mylar

Support Films
Continuous uniform rolls of Mylar for XRF applications
Chinese
These are strong and chemically resistant films for x-ray spectroscopy. They have been specially developed for retaining liquids, slurries or loose powder materials in x-ray sample holders. These are not just your average "run-of-the-mill" film materials, but have been not only specially manufactured for this application, but have been quality control tested to ensure the stated specifications.
In addition to the film possessing very small standard deviations in the point-to-point thickness values, it is also essentially free of the low level contaminants that can occur in films of any type at any time. However, there can be some impurity elements present in the low ppm range, hence it would be good laboratory practice to always run a "blank" film control only to be on the safe side of all interpretations.
Another advantage of Mylar
®
film generally is its outstanding resistance to decomposition or other changes due to the exposure to ionizing radiation.
Presently, the x-ray films are available only in Mylar and in three different thicknesses: 2.5, 3.6, and 6.0 µm.
