Although DMP-30 is not normally considered a candidate for refrigerator storage for busy laboratories, if shelf life is going to be a problem because of low volume usage, then consider storing the DMP-30 bottle(s) under refrigeration. However, before using, great take care to make sure that the bottles have been given enough time to warm up to room temperature prior to opening. This should be done in a fume hood.
When the cap is removed, make certain that its removal time is at a very minimum, use a clean disposable glass pipette each time, and each time when finished, immediately, tightly cap the bottle again. When finished with that set of experiments, return to the refrigerator for longer term storage.
With this kind of proper storage, and if the DMP-30 has been purchased from a reputable supplier (e.g. it has been bottled under controlled moisture- free conditions), it would not be an unreasonable expectation for the DMP-30 to "last" several years.
Signs that the DMP-30 should no longer be used: If the color becomes too much of a deep yellow, or if there should be any signs of any type of a precipitate.
