Use polyethylene glycol with certain acrylate based embedding systems

Common names: For polyethylene glycol "Carbowax" if manufactured by Union Carbide Corporation; PEG 200

Materials to avoid: Strong oxidizing agents
Conditions to avoid: High heat and open flames or other sources of ignition.

PEG 200 has a variety of uses but it can be especially useful for certain commonly used procedures in electron microscopy. SPI-Chem PEG 200 does not hydrolyze or deteriorate on storage. And it will not support the growth of molds (so far as we know).
