Component for certain epoxy embedding resin kits, especially for electron microscopy applications. The SPI-Chem brand of DDSA is the generic version of HY 964. Other applications for this versatile compound are as a corrosion inhibitor, viscosity modifier in certain lubricant systems, gelling agent in certain grease formulations, surfactant, and as a chemical intermediate for esters, amines, imides, and related organics.
