Araldite® CY212 is an epoxy resin monomer. It is solvent-free and is
modified with a plasticizer. It has an epoxy equivalent weight of 232-250
and yields 3-dimensional crosslinking blocks. This Araldite, sometimes
known as Araldite M, is the resin component of a TEM embedding formulation,
popular for certain types of samples. It is no longer being produced
commercially, however SPI obtained a good supply while it was available and
is being offered only as long as present inventory lasts. An old formulation that works is:
10 parts CY212, 10 parts DDSA, 0.5 parts DMP-30 and 1 part Dibutyl phthalate.
