Cautions
Like all aminoplasts based on melamine/formal-dehyde, NANOPLAST@ FB 101 may release some free formaldehyde during condensation. The laboratory, therefore, should be sufficiently aerated. Para-toluene sulfonic acid irritates skin, eyes and respiratory tract by direct contact:

Storing
MME 7002 and B 52 can be stored at room temperature for at least 6 months. B 52 is hygroscopic; it must be closed firmly and kept in the dark.

Rights
U.S. Patent No 541.966 Other patents pending

Applications
NANOPLAST@ FB 101 is a highly water-soluble two-component resin system for electron microscopy. It permits the infiltration, drying and hardening of biological specimens without the need of dehydration by organic solvents. Thin sections of NANOPLAST@- embedded materials yield a structural resolution un-attainable by other methods.

Chemical Specifications
MME 7002 is a colourless , 70% aqueous solution of a melamine resin. After the addition of the acid catalyst B 52, it is dried at 40 °C and subsequently hardened at 60 °C.

Component 1
Melamine resin MME 7002 (hexamethylmelamine-methyl ether, 70% in water) 250 ml.

Component 2
Acid catalyst B 52 (p-toluene sulfonic acid 10g)
