Use as a metal stain as well as an oxidizer in a number of histological and electron microscope laboratory sample preparation procedures. We also know that potassium permanganate is a common ingredient of certain chemistry class demonstrations, but never forget that this product is a also a powerful oxidizer and should be used only under responsible supervision.
