Instructions for Use and Sample Protocols

Buffer Recipes
The basic PBS and TBS buffers are given here. These are supplemented with higher concentrations of Tween 20, NaCl, or BSA as required.

(A) Tris buffered saline
Add 100ml distilled water
+ 0.242g (20mM) Tris (tris-hydroxymethyl-aminomethane)
+ 0.0975g (15mM) NaN3 (preservative)
+ 0.9g (225mM) NaCl

Adjust to pH 8.2 (or other pH as necessary) with 0.1N NaOH or 0.1N HCl and microfilter.

(B) Phosphate buffered saline
Add 100ml distilled water
+ 0.148g Na₂HPO₄
+ 0.043g KH₂PO₄
+ 0.72g NaCl
+ 0.0975g NaN₃

Adjust to pH 7.2 with 0.1N NaOH or 0.1N HCl and microfilter.
