Stain for cytoplasm, collagen and other biologicals. This is one of the two "cornerstone" dyes for all H & E techniques, the other being Hematoxylin. When used in conjunction with hematoxylin, the nuclei come out dark blue and the cytoplasm and nucleoli, red.
