These carts are useful for increasing portability and saving on laboratory space. They come standard with anti-scuff casters including brakes and locks. The carts feature a cushioning system that minimizes vibration, shocks and wear and tear on the the chambers. The carts also feature a horizontal gas tank support rack which provides greater tank handling and flexibility.
The "small" size cards are used in conjunction with the "small" chambers and the "large" cart with the "large" chambers.
Small cart (outside dimensions) 51" wide x 24" deep x 35" high 129.5 cm x 61 cm x 89.9 cm. Use with SPI #18001 and #18003.
Large Cart (outside dimensions) 55" wide x 34" deep x 35" high 139.7 cm x 86.4 cm x 89.9 cm. Use with SPI #18005.
Oxygen trap removal package This is an in-line oxygen removal canister (indicated with "1" in the graphic to the right). Oxygen removal is done down to 10 ppb. Oxygen removal system must be used in conjunction with the drying train.
To further clarify, the oxygen trap takes advantage of new molecular sieve technology to remove oxygen from dry nitrogen (already at the ppm level) down to about 10 ppb. It must be used in conjunction with a drying train, and it is only suitable for these very limited purposes. While the device will take 200 cubic feet of dry nitrogen down to 10 ppb oxygen, as described, it will last for no more than a few minutes if asked to treat ambient air, and perhaps only seconds if the air being treated is not thoroughly dried prior to oxygen removal. Maximum effectiveness is achieved by continuous recirculation and not on a one-time basis, so flow rate is not a significant consideration. We wanted to make sure these points were understood by prospective purchasers in order to avoid the possibilities of future disappointments!
Recycling: The device can be returned to us for regeneration, which costs approximately two-thirds of the cost of a new unit. It is not designed for field regeneration.
Drying train package with pump The package includes three polycarbonate canisters fill with DesiSphere medium, hose connections, and diaphragm pump mounted on 0.375" (9.5 mm) clear acrylic base with suction cup feet. Drying train removes unwanted moisture from the internal atmosphere and can be used with or without a catalyst heater unit. The DesiSphere™ medium is recommended because it has been found to be more effective than conventional desiccants. For use with #18005 and #18003 only. #18001 comes with this package.
For further clarification, see our further demonstration of this system.
The catalyst heater unit has two primary functions:
The internal atmosphere is drawn off the floor and up across the heating elements and aluminized palladium pellets. Any oxygen present will react with any anaerobic gas mixture and be reduced to water vapor. The drying train then removes the vapor as needed.
